MASTERPIECE

I took a piece of my heart,

I folded it like a paper plane.

And made it fly high into the sky,

It went higher beyond sight

Just for it to return back;

Crushed into a pierced remnant.

I took another piece of my heart

And gave it to the person I love;

He took it with a promise to keep it safe.

But everything changed as he never kept to his words,

He used it like it matters less to him.

He used it like it never meant anything to him

Just to return it worse than the previous piece.

Should I give up now?

Should I love pride and forsake forgiveness?

Oh! no, what is left?

What is there to give out now?

Only one piece remaining,

The piece that meant more and more to me.

What now can I do?

The more I gave out, the less I recieve.

The greater my expectations, the higher my fears.

Now... I'm left with just one,

The piece that will make out as a whole.

The piece that will get to the world and return untouched.

_The great Piece_ ... *The Masterpiece*
